If you read one thing
Four providers handle data whenever ATON Desk runs: DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Resend and Stripe. Anthropic does whenever the AI is on. The rest handle data only when you switch on the feature that uses them, such as messaging channels. Your workspace's stored data stays with DigitalOcean in Toronto, Canada. We change this list before a new provider starts.

02When the AI is on

Anthropic does not use what it receives to train its models. The search model that finds the right parts of your content runs on our own server in Toronto, so your content and questions stay in Canada for that step.
03When you enable messaging channels

Each works only for a workspace that has the messaging channels add-on and has connected that channel. The messaging terms apply.
04Places you send data yourself
Some features send data where you tell them to. Those destinations are yours, not our subprocessors:
- alerts to your own Slack or Discord channel, which say a chat is waiting and never carry what the visitor wrote;
- webhooks and API keys you create, which send or read your workspace's data;
- AI actions you define, which call your own systems.
05Our own services
Some work is done by services we run ourselves, not by another company: the sign-in service for Atheron accounts, and the converter that turns Word files into PDF so the AI can read them.
06Changes to this list
Before a new provider starts handling your workspace's data, we add it here with a new version of this page, and tell your workspace's owners at least 30 days ahead. If you object for a good reason, tell us: we will try to find a way round it, and if we cannot, you can cancel and get back the unused part of what you prepaid.
